The One Question You’re Not Asking (But Should Be)

Updated: Dec 19

What Do You Want Right Now?

When was the last time you truly asked yourself that question? Not what should I do or what needs to be done, but what do I want? It’s easy to get caught up in the demands of life—work, family, relationships—and forget that your joy matters too.

But here’s the thing: You deserve to feel good, every single day. You deserve moments of indulgence, presence, and pure, unapologetic you time. And those moments don’t have to be extravagant—they just have to be intentional.

I’ve been there, stuck in the cycle of “shoulds,” until I rediscovered something powerful.

Let me tell you a story.

Earlier today, as I stepped out of the shower, I was hit with a memory of my teenage years. Back then, I was the girl who could spend hours in the bathtub, blissfully ignoring my dad’s grumbling about the water bill and my mom’s concern that I might fall asleep and drown. At one point, she even made me keep the bathroom door open so she could check on me.

Even as a kid, I knew the magic of creating time for myself—a little bubble of peace in a chaotic world.

Now, years later, I’m still that girl, but my nightly wind-down routine has grown into something much deeper. It’s not just a bath anymore. It’s a ritual—a time to check in with myself, to ask, What do I want in this moment? Some nights, it’s all about the little luxuries: lighting a candle, choosing between lavender or eucalyptus essential oils, slipping into a silk robe, or simply breathing deeply and letting the day melt away.

And here’s the life-changing part: When I started listening to what I really wanted—without guilt or overthinking—I rediscovered a version of joy I hadn’t felt in years.

Your Turn to Reclaim Joy

This isn’t just about me—it’s about you. Imagine what your life could feel like if you gave yourself permission to pause and reconnect with what makes you happy. What if you let go of the shoulds and started asking yourself, What do I truly want right now?

It doesn’t have to be complicated. Maybe it’s lighting that candle you’ve been saving, slipping into your coziest robe, or indulging in a few extra minutes of quiet. Whatever sparks joy for you, lean into it. Be present. Be intentional.

And if you need a little inspiration, I’d love for you to join me on this journey. Follow along on my socials for more tips, stories, and ideas to create a life filled with the kind of joy that feels natural, intentional, and entirely your own.

Because you deserve to feel good—every single day. 💛
