Sun-Kissed Memories with My Girls

Hey everyone! I just got back from an epic girls' trip to Palm Springs with 11 of my closest friends, and it was everything we dreamed of and more. Thanks to reality shows, gossip, and societal propaganda, many people are led to believe that too many girls in one room would definitely lead to a #GirlFight. However, when you put 13 emotionally mature women in the same house together for four days, what you end up with is nothing but fun. We showed each other love and respect, treated each other with empathy and compassion, gave each other advice, and made each other laugh.

From the moment we arrived, the vibes were on point. We lounged by the pool, sipped on tequila shots, and had those deep, late-night convos that only happen with your besties. We talked about relationships, shared our vulnerabilities, and just supported each other through it all.

Game night was a total blast—so much laughter and fun! We took photos every chance we got, capturing the joy and the bond we share. Shoutout to my amazing friends Jazmyn and Nicole for planning the whole trip down to the last detail. Their love and thoughtfulness made everything so special.

This trip wasn’t just about having fun (though we definitely did!). It was about celebrating our friendships and showing that women can come together in unity and support. No fights, no drama—just pure love and respect for each other.

After reading several books by bell hooks, I have had a deep desire to foster more healthy feminine relationships. I have come to realize that few things are more comforting than being in the loving embrace of sisterhood. Female friendships are so powerful. They lift us up, bring us joy, and make us stronger. This trip was a beautiful reminder of that. So here’s to Jazmyn, Nicole, and all the fabulous women in my life—thank you for the laughs, the love, and the memories. Let’s keep showing the world that when women come together, amazing things happen.

With love,

Jessica Nichole, PhD
