Vibe: For a delectable pairing with the Peach Cobbler, I suggest the song "Honey" by Mariah Carey. Released in 1997, this R&B hit by the iconic Mariah Carey will add a touch of sweet and sultry vibes to your baking session. As you prepare your delicious cobbler, let Mariah's smooth vocals and catchy melodies inspire your culinary creativity. Enjoy the combination of irresistible flavors and the delightful sound of "Honey" by Mariah Carey.

Booze: To complement the flavors of the Peach Cobbler, I recommend pairing it with a light and refreshing Moscato wine. Moscato is known for its sweet and fruity characteristics, which harmonize well with the juicy and fragrant nature of the peaches in the cobbler. Its effervescence and lower alcohol content make it a delightful choice for a summer dessert. Serve a chilled glass of Moscato alongside your Peach Cobbler to enhance the overall dining experience and create a perfect balance of flavors. Cheers to a delightful combination!

Ingredients:

  • 6 to 7 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced

  • 1 teaspoon sweet orange extract

  • Zest of one orange

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

  • 1 box yellow cake mix (I use Trader Joe’s Yellow Cake & Baking Mix)

  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, cubed

  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. In a medium bowl, combine the fresh peaches, brown sugar, orange zest, sweet orange extract, freshly grated nutmeg, and sea salt. Toss well to coat the peaches.

  3. Pour the peach mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.

  4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the peaches, covering them completely.

  5. Scatter the cubed butter over the cake mix, distributing it evenly.

  6. Sprinkle the Garam masala evenly over the cubed butter.

  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes or until the top is puffed, and the fruit is bubbling.

  8. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 20 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

  9. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.

  10. Serve warm, and if desired, top with a scoop of ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.
