Vibe: I recommend playing "La Vie En Rose" by Edith Piaf. Its melodic accordion and soulful vocals will infuse your kitchen with a cozy, nostalgic atmosphere, perfect for culinary inspiration and creative exploration. Enjoy your baking journey with a touch of Parisian flair and the enchanting melodies of "La Vie En Rose" filling the air!

From preparation to baking and cooling, expect to spend approximately 35 -47 minutes making these Orange-infused Brown Butter Caramel Latte Cookies.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • Zest of 1 orange

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder

  • 1-2 tablespoons hot water

  • 1 cup chewy caramel candies, chopped

  • Optional: Sea salt for sprinkling on top

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the butter turns golden brown and smells nutty. Be careful not to burn it. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

3. In a small bowl, dissolve the instant espresso powder in 1-2 tablespoons of hot water to create a concentrated espresso mixture. Set aside to cool slightly.

4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.

5. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and orange zest to the butter and sugar mixture. Beat until smooth and creamy.

6. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

8. Fold in the chopped chewy caramel candies until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

9. Add the cooled espresso mixture to the dough and mix until incorporated.

10. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving some space between each cookie.

11. Optional: Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each cookie for a delicious salty-sweet contrast.

12. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.

13. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

14. Enjoy your delicious brown butter caramel latte cookies with a hint of orange zest and a cup of coffee for an extra special treat!
