Ingredients:

  • 1 package of store-bought cinnamon rolls (with icing)

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg

  • Maple syrup, for drizzling

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Prepare the Caramel Pecan Topping:

- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.

- Stir in the brown sugar, heavy cream, and ground nutmeg until well combined.

- Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

- Remove from heat and stir in the chopped pecans.

- Pour the caramel pecan mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.

3. Arrange the Cinnamon Rolls:

- Arrange the store-bought cinnamon rolls evenly on top of the caramel pecan mixture in the baking dish. Place them upside down so that the caramel pecan topping will be on top when baked.

4. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and cooked through.

5. Cool and Invert: Allow the sticky buns to cool in the baking dish for a few minutes. Then, carefully invert the baking dish onto a serving platter to release the sticky buns with the caramel pecan topping on top.

6. Drizzle with Maple Syrup: Once the sticky buns are inverted and on the serving platter, drizzle maple syrup over the warm sticky buns.

7. Drizzle with Icing: Drizzle the included icing from the cinnamon roll package over the warm sticky buns.

8. Serve and Enjoy: Serve the homemade sticky buns warm, allowing everyone to pull apart their deliciously gooey portions!

Storage Directions:

- Refrigerator: Leftover sticky buns can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. When ready to enjoy, reheat in the microwave for a few seconds or in a preheated oven until warmed through.

- Freezer: To freeze, wrap individual portions of cooled sticky buns tightly in plastic wrap and place them in a freezer-safe container or resealable freezer bag. They can be frozen for up to 1 month. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.
